Bob recently led innovation and investments for Mitsubishi Chemical Company, where he stood up their venture capital practice (Diamond Edge Ventures) and the initial portfolio of investments. At Diamond Edge Bob actively worked with battery and material science startups to advance the efforts of the company in strategic markets. Previously Bob headed up innovation for Panasonic in North America where he led Panasonic's robotic strategy and development of autonomous systems. At Panasonic Bob launched their EV practice where his team designed and built some of the most advanced technologies for Zoox, Byton, NIO, Lucid, BMW, Toyota in support of their electrification goals. Bob is known for his work in robotics where he served as the cofounder/CEO of Ugobe, the first life-like robot system developed in partnership with Terry Gou of Foxconn and Masayoshi Son of Softbank.
Darius Roberts is a hardware/software entrepreneur with a strong background in project development. His interest in robotics and firmware engineering goes back to his sojourn in China, during its heyday as a global electronics mecca.
Darius is the CEO at Uplift, which makes intelligent solar panels with a power-optimizing mesh-network. In past positions, he has served as a technical liaison and lead programmer for significant government software projects, including a major FCC software platform to auction bandwidth. His ability to manage teams and develop secure, reliable platforms has been a key asset in his career.
