Bob recently led innovation and investments for Mitsubishi Chemical Company, where he stood up their venture capital practice (Diamond Edge Ventures) and the initial portfolio of investments. At Diamond Edge Bob actively worked with battery and material science startups to advance the efforts of the company in strategic markets. Previously Bob headed up innovation for Panasonic in North America where he led Panasonic's robotic strategy and development of autonomous systems. At Panasonic Bob launched their EV practice where his team designed and built some of the most advanced technologies for Zoox, Byton, NIO, Lucid, BMW, Toyota in support of their electrification goals. Bob is known for his work in robotics where he served as the cofounder/CEO of Ugobe, the first life-like robot system developed in partnership with Terry Gou of Foxconn and Masayoshi Son of Softbank.
Andy Abramson is the CEO and founder of Comunicano, a full-service communications agency specializing in technology and digital media. With over 40 years of experience in the marketing communications industry, Andy deeply understands the ever-evolving communications landscape and has helped numerous companies navigate this complex field to achieve their goals. To date, 60 Comunicano clients have been acquired or IPO’d for over $9.4 billion dollars including two clients acquired by Google and Vonage each, with Cisco, IBM, CA, Citrix, Logitech, T-Mobile, RIM, and Nokia being some of the other acquirers.
Prior to starting Comunicano, Andy held various roles in the marketing and communications industry, including positions as a journalist, integrated marketing agency professional, and sports marketing executive. He has worked with various companies and clients, from startups to the Fortune 500, and has a proven track record of delivering results. His work in professional sports led to the creation of the first-ever fan development organization in the industry while his work in technology initiated the first-ever company-branded social media program for a Fortune 100 company..
Andy is also a regular speaker and commentator on the topics of communications, technology, and digital media. He has been quoted in various publications, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Forbes, and is a sought-after speaker at conferences and events worldwide.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Andy is also an avid traveler, winemaker, and remote work leader. He has visited over 50 countries and has a collection of wines that capture the flavors and diversity of wine from around the world. He is also a board member of a non-profit organization, as well as a board of director, director emeritus and hall of fame member for an amateur sports organization.
